The J Paul Story.....

J Paul Smith Construction began in 1962 by George Hamilton III’s grandfather and Cumberland county native, J Paul Smith. J Paul built numerous golf courses and subdivisions in Cumberland and Putnam counties as well as developed residential areas; involving the construction of roads, site preparation and installation of underground utilities.

Upon his death in 2018, George Hamilton III inherited the original company of J Paul Smith Construction and merged the two together to form the now Hamilton Consulting and Construction, LLC, dba J Paul Smith Construction. Since its creation, HCC has successfully completed more than $80 million worth of diverse construction projects; consisting of environmental management of Sequatchie Valley Coal, numerous multi-family developments, transmission line & substation projects, management of landfills, work at Center Hill Dam, as well as various other large-scale construction projects.
